About Readwith

Talk about the book you're reading. Right now.

You just finished a book and you need to talk about it. Your friends haven't read it, and joining a book club means waiting a month and reading whatever they pick next. Readwith fixes that: pick the book, start a group, and find people who want to talk about it too, for one conversation or a weekly meetup.

What makes us different

Start from the book, not a club

Most book apps ask you to join a club and read whatever it picks. Readwith starts with the book you care about right now and finds people who want to talk about it too.

Connect fast, commit to nothing

One good conversation is a win. Start a group, someone joins, you talk. Once you have enough people, close the group and get reading. No monthly picks, no admin.

1-on-1 is a first-class option

Sometimes you don't want a group. You just want one other person who finished it and gets why that ending wrecked you.

Spoilers on your terms

Every book group says whether people have finished the book, are reading it, or are about to start, so you only meet readers at the same point.

Meet when it suits you

Chat anytime, or set a meetup time that repeats weekly or every two weeks. Everyone sees it in their own time zone and can add it to their calendar.

Your own Discord server, in two clicks

Hosts can spin up a Discord server for the group, named after the book. Members join with one tap, and the Readwith bot posts a reminder before every meetup.

Who it's for

Readers who want to talk books without the overhead: the BookTok crowd chasing the next great read, the friend who reads faster than everyone they know, the person halfway through a series who can't wait to compare theories. If you'd rather run a traditional club with RSVPs and monthly meetings, there are great tools for that. Readwith is for connecting quickly.

Questions

Is it free?
Yes. Finding, starting, and joining groups are free, and always will be. If we add paid extras later, the core stays free.
Do I need Discord?
No. Every group has its own chat right here on Readwith. Discord is optional, for groups that want voice calls or already live there.
How do meetups work?
When you start a group, choose "Meet at set times" and pick a day, time, and how often it repeats. The group page shows the next meetup with a countdown and add-to-calendar buttons, and groups with a Discord server get a reminder an hour before.
Who can see my chats?
Only the host and the people who joined that group. The group's Discord invite is hidden from everyone else too.
What if someone is rude?
Report any message from the chat, and leave a group at any time. Hosts can close their group to new members or delete it entirely.
